July 22 Drive to Elkhart Lake
Vintage Sports Car Concours d’Elegance, Downtown Road America July 22
On Saturday, July 22, join fellow PCA-Milwaukee Region members for the annual Nationwide Insurance Vintage Sports Car Concours d’ Elegance on the streets of downtown Elkhart Lake – Road America. This concours is arguably one of the best in the Midwest. An added draw: It’s absolutely free!
We will depart from downtown Cedarburg at 3 p.m. and follow a twisty and hilly route through the north Kettle Moraine. We will arrive in Elkhart Lake in time for a 5 p.m. dinner reservation at one of our favorite Elkhart Lake venues, the Lake Street Café. Check out Lake Street Café’s website www.lakestreetcafe.com for more information, including their menu. As you will see, the café has an extensive and varied menu; you may order anything ranging from a salad, to a sandwich, to a personal-sized pizza, to a full dinner. Dinner is optional; you may participate in the drive and take in the concours without having dinner at Lake Street. Outdoor beer gardens and entertainment available following car show.
The early time for dinner is mandatory since this is probably the busiest weekend of the season in Elkhart Lake. Besides, with an early dinner, we will have the remainder of the evening to roam the streets, ogling 100+ well-preserved and/or restored sports cars of almost any marque imaginable, many of them Porsches.
Due to the popularity of Lake Street, especially on this evening, dinner participants will be limited to the first 40 that register. Trip leader Tony Quebbemann must receive dinner reservations by one week prior to the event (i.e., by Saturday, July 15). There will be NO acceptance of late registrations for this event. Please mail registration forms in time to be received by the FIRM DEADLINE!
As a result of a large number of PCA no-shows in the past, a non-refundable (after the deadline date, July 15) deposit of $10 per diner ($20 per couple) is required for those having dinner at Lake Street. Each deposit check will be returned to its owner at the café. The deposit check can then either be applied toward partial payment of the cost of dinner for you and your guests (if any), or the check can be voided and the entire cost of your and your guest’s dinner can be paid with cash or credit card.
Further details regarding the meeting place/departure point will be provided to registered participants via email. A blank registration form is available here. Please download and complete the form in its entirety and mail via U.S. Mail (with deposit check if you’re having dinner at Lake Street), to the address shown on the form.
